New Local and Family History Books @ Moonee Valley Libraries

Bandsman Vosti's Diaries: War and peace in Essendon 1917-1920 by Lenore Frost.  John Vosti's diaries detail the life of a working family during the First World War.  These diaires focus on local life during a difficult period for families in Australian history.

Tracing your Second World War Ancestors: a Guide for Family Historians by Phil Tomaselli. This book is a comprehensive guide to tracing the careers of men and women who served in the Second World War.  Identifies and explains the key sources for family historians.

Birrarung Database compiled by Mick Woiwod.  This Resource Kit's prime focus is on the Aboriginal story of the Yarra Valley.  Also by Mick Woiwod is the Coranderrk Database is a 238 page compilation of the author's research material and now available for the first time to researchers.

Mick Woiwod and the Nillumbik Reconciliation Group recieved funding via PROV for free distribution of this valuable resource for people interested in the Wurundjeri history. The book also comes with a CD.
