New Family History CD at the Sam Merrifield Library


Australia's Army War Dead (1885-1972) is now available in the Local History Room of the Sam Merrifield Library, Moonee Ponds. This CD is a collection of over 88,000 Army index records of service personnel, from all states and territories in Australia, who lost their lives during or as a result of operational service between 1885 and 1972, the operations covered are the Sudan War, the Boer War, World War 1, World War 11, the British Commonwealth Occupational Force (BCOF Japan), Korea, the Malayan Emergency, the Indonesian Confrontation and the Vietnam War. The index has been produced by the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriage, in cooperation with the Australian Army's Central Army Records Office (CARO).
