  In the lead up to Anzac Day on the 25th April, Find my Past has created the Anzac Memory Bank to allow people to share personal and family stories about Australia and New Zealand involvement in wars and conflict around the world.  Information and articles from military experts will also be available. In addition Find my Past will provide free access to all its military records from Monday 22April to Friday 26th April.

The end of an old year and start of a new year is sometimes the perfect time to delve into your family history.  The findmypast database will offer from Boxing Day until New Year's Day activities, guides and charts on how best to research your family tree. Findmypast database is only available for use at the Moonee Valley Library Service.  The libraries will be open from the 28th December to 31st December, 2011, so why not book into use this fantastic database.

The Moonee Valley Library Service has a 90-day trial of "Find My Past" a well known genealogy site. It can only be used in the library and we have access to both the Australian and the UK versions. You can access it at http://www.findmypast.com.au/ which give you the Australian edition. Contents include Sands & McDougall, NZ electoral rolls, government gazettes and much more. The following is the link for the UK edition findmypast. The site includes census, migration and army records. Comments and feedback welcome.

When England play, you don't pay: 30 minutes before each England game kicks off, all the records on findmypast.co.uk will be free to view for 3 hours. It's simple - just register and start viewing. You can view original images and transcriptions of all their records for free including birth, marriage and death records 1538-2006, census records including the 1911 census and the Chelsea Pensioners British Army Service Records 1760-1913, just a few of their records.
